MAY 29- Producer Rahul Aggarwal says he is missing actor Sanjay Dutt’s presence during the promotions of his forthcoming film “Policegiri”, in which the actor plays the lead role.
The movie, co-produced by Rahul along with his father T.P. Aggarwal, will be Sanjay’s first release after his surrender in the 1993 Mumbai blast case. He surrendered May 22 and is currently in Yerawada Central Jail, Pune.
“The feeling is very incomplete. Throughout the film Sanjay has been with me. Right now a piece of my heart is missing. We are incomplete. He should have been here,” Aggarwal told reporters Monday at the launch of the movie’s first look.
“If he would have been talking right now, the whole country would have heard what he had to say about ‘Policegiri’,” he added.
High on action, “Policegiri”, a cop drama, is being compared to blockbusters “Singham” and “Dabangg”.
Taking it as a compliment, Aggarwal said he won’t mind comparisons if his film replicates the success of these two films at the box office.
Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the film is a remake of Tamil film “Saamy” and stars Prachi Desai in the female lead.
