KUALA LUMPUR, June 6- Over 100 attendees comprising women exporters as well as representatives from women associations, relevant agencies and IBM Corporation participated in the Women’s Business Forum and Networking Session held yesterday.
The forum was organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) in collaboration with IBM Corporation and Quantum Leaps Inc. of the United States, at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre.
In a statement, Matrade said that women entrepreneurs have contributed towards the growth of the nation, particularly their contribution to the exports sector.
“Women entrepreneurs nowadays are also seen in technology-based and high value-added sectors such as information and communications technology (ICT), electrical and electronics sector and engineering services,” it said.
Matrade said the primary objective of the forum was to establish business linkages and opportunities for Malaysian women entrepreneurs with multinational corporations such as IBM Corporation.
This is part of Matrade’s programme called Women Exporters Development Programme with the aim of increasing the level of participation of women entrepreneurs in international trade.
