PUTRAJAYA, June 6- The First Lady of Laos, Keosaychay Sayasone paid a courtesy call on the wife of the prime minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, at Seri Perdana, here, today.
During the visit, Sayasone was accompanied by the president of the Women’s Union at the ministerial level of Laos, Sysay Leudedmounsone, Laotian Ambassador to Malaysia, Khamphan Anlavan, and several other members of the delegation.
The hour-long meeting was held in conjunction with the Global Summit of Women 2013 themed ‘Women: Creating New Economies’ which began here today.
The two-day summit meeting is held annually which gathers prominent women leaders in government and commerce from more than 70 countries.
Malaysia, as the host, plans to provide a platform to explore practical strategies and best practices in promoting economic opportunities for women worldwide.
Among the agenda for the summit meeting are a pleno session on regional and global business trends, chief executive officers’ (CEO) forum, entrepreneurs forum and practical strategies for growth, skill development sessions and opportunities for creating business chains.
