Palanivel further said that MIC may refuse taking up Municipal and local council councilors and special advisors or officers’ positions in Perak State government.
Since this is a matter of urgency and pride for the party he will convene a CWC meeting to discuss and decide on this matter.
CWC also to discuss party matters
The CWC meeting scheduled to take place on the 18th of June will also discuss ongoing debates on postponement of party elections at branch, division and national level.
In the previous Perak state government controlled by Pakatan Rakyat, the Speaker’s post was held by an Indian state assemblyman from DAP. Later, when the Perak State government was taken over by Barisan Nasional, the Speaker’s post was held by MIC representative Datuk R.Ganesan.
“We will be deprived if we are not given the Speaker’s post” added Palanivel.
“So, the Perak MB should decide on this matter seriously. If we are deprived of the Speaker’s post then we will not take up the councilor posts and other state government positions but would remain BN friendly” Palanivel said in a press statement.
