SINGAPORE, June 17- Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek arrived here this evening to attend the eGov Global Exchange 2013 and Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX) Ministerial Forum on ICT.
The eGov Global Exchange 2013 and the Ministerial Forum will kick off on Monday at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
Ahmad Shabery is also scheduled to make a courtesy call on his Singaporean counterpart, Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim, for two-way bilateral talks between Malaysia and Singapore.
The minister is accompanied by, among others, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi and officials under his ministry.
The eGov Global Exchange 2013 brings together senior e-government policy makers and practitioners from around the world, to facilitate mutual learning and sharing.
It expects a turnout of 500 attendees including ICT ministers from the Asia Pacific region and beyond, senior public sector officers, business leaders and experts from international bodies that study e-government development and performance.
The imbX is Asia’s largest infocomm and media event that fortifies Singapore’s position as a leading infocomm and media hub.
It incorporates CommunicAsia, BroadcastAsia, EnterpriseIT and inter-government meetings such as the imbX Ministerial Forum on ICT.
The event is jointly organised by Singapore Exhibition Services and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation, and is hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA) and the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).
