PUTRAJAYA, June 17 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak received a courtesy call from the Chief Minister of Victoria, Dr Denis Napthine, at his office, here today.
The meeting, which lasted almost 30 minutes, among other things discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dr Napthine was in Malaysia to lead his country’s Super Trade Mission to Southeast Asia from June 16 to 21.
Bilateral relations between Malaysia and Australia had been increasing in recent years, especially with the enforcement of the Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement early this year.
Malaysia is Victoria’s ninth biggest trading partner with bilateral trade valued at A$2.9 billion (A$1 = RM2.978) in 2012.
