KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – The Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Muar continues to worsen and still at hazardous level, at 746 as at 7am today, from a reading of 453 at 4pm yesterday.
According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) website, two areas in Melaka, namely Bandaraya Melaka and Bukit Rambai, which recorded unhealthy API reading of 188 and 170, respectively, previously, now registered hazardous API reading at 357 and 334, respectively.
A total of 12 areas registered unhealthy API reading, 35 had moderate reading and two others categorised as having good air quality.
Based on the air quality index, reading of between 0-50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 300 and above hazardous.
