PUTRAJAYA, June 25 – Government departments and agencies must be prepared to help the people face the worsening haze situation.
Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said if the people need help, the nearest government department office should provide it.
Ali Hamsa urged civil servants to take measures to safeguard health by following the instructions and guidance of the Department of Health in their respective districts.
The current haze is the worst compared to the haze in 2005 and 2010. The Air Pollutant Index (API) in Muar and Ledang yesterday hit 382 (hazardous level).
A state of emergency was declared in Muar and Ledang districts yesterday after the API hit a high of 746.

51-100 :Moderate
101-200 :Unhealthy
201-300 :Very Unhealthy
Over 300 :Hazardous.
