SEPANG, June 29- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak left for Tanzania yesterday afternoon to attend the four-day Global Smart Partnership Dialogue in Dares Salam.
The special aircraft carrying Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, took off from the KL International Airport here at 4 pm.
Accompanying Najib were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. The visit by Najib, who is leading a 100-member delegation to the dialogue, is expected to further promote Malaysia-Africa ties, investment and trade.
Launched in 1995 when Malaysia hosted the first Langkawi International Dialogue (LID), the Global Smart Partnership serves as a platform for smart partners, including heads of government, business leaders, scientists, academicians, student leaders and others, to meet and discuss ideas and experiences related to science, technology and innovation.
