KUALA LUMPUR, July 1- R. Goonasekaran was appointed Pahang MIC liaison chairman by party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.
Goonasekaran, who was previously MIC Pahang deputy chairman, replaced Datuk M. Deventhiran.
“My advice to Goonasekaran as the new state chairman is – go down to the grassroots and address the problems of the people.
“He should travel all over Pahang and meet party’s branch chairmen, committee members, members of the branches as well as the public,” Palanivel said in a statement yesterday.
Palanivel, who is also natural resources and environment minister, thanked Deventhiran for the good services rendered to the MIC and the people during his tenure as Pahang MIC liaison chairman.
