SEREMBAN, July 8- Telok Kemang MIC division vice-chairman R. Vinthan was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit by a car in Chuah, Port Dickson near here, yesterday.
Vinthan, 56, was travelling from the direction of Chuah towards Port Dickson when the accident occurred at about 2.30pm.
A police spokesman said Vinthan was flung onto the road after he hit a lamp post on the road shoulder before he was ploughed by a car which came from the same direction.
“He died of head and abdominal injuries at the scene,” said the spokesman.
Meanwhile, Telok Kemang MIC division chairman Datuk M. Veloo said Vinthan’s loss would be greatly felt by local MIC leaders and people as he had served as MIC leader in Telok Kemang for a long time.
“To the locals, he is a very committed leader. He was Ladang Sengkang MIC branch chairman since 1990 and was appointed Telok Kemang MIC division vice-chairman in 2009,” said Veloo.
Vinthan leaves behind a wife and three children aged between 19 and 26.
