KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6- MIC Youth today handed over a RM200,000 contribution by the government to the Malaysian Armed Forces Indian Veterans Association (PERIM) to assist the association in getting more members of the Indian community to join the armed forces.
MIC Youth chief T Mohan said the movement had submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister’s Department in November last year to assist PERIM in the effort.
“MIC Youth will work with PERIM to promote careers in the armed forces to the Indian community, especially students,” he told reporters at the cheque presentation ceremony to PERIM at the MIC headquarters here today.
At the ceremony, T Mohan handed over the cheque for RM200,000 to PERIM president Major (Rtd) M Sanggaran.
