KANGAR, July 31 – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail wants the authorities to take stern action against those insulting the Islamic religion.
He said that such provocations represented cynical statements which were extreme and unacceptable to the people especially in the context of the plural society.
“No one should play with fire. Don’t gamble with religious and racial sentiments for the sake of national prosperity and harmony that we cherish,” he said at the breaking of the fast with the staff and students of Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS) at Kompleks Budi Penyayang, Kepala Batas, Penang Tuesday night.
The Raja Muda reminded that although Islam taught its followers to be tolerant, the Muslim-Malay attitude must always remain strong.
Also present at the gathering were the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is also AUCMS Chancellor, and Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas.
