GEORGE TOWN, Feb 7 – An estimated 80,000 people are expected to attend the 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Open House organised by the Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) on Feb 11 at Han Chiang College from 9am until 1pm.
Penang Gerakan Youth chief Oh Tong Keong said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who will be attending the event is expected to arrive at 10.30am.
“We are inviting everyone in Penang and neighbouring states to celebrate with us, BN has also extended an invitation to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and state exco members.
“We sent the invitation on Monday but we have yet to receive a reply from him (Lim),” he told reporters, here, today. Oh said BN had also prepared parking spaces for guests and free shuttle bus service for visitors using public transport.
He added that various programmes, including a concert that features Korea’s sensational singer ‘Psy’ (who popularised the Gangnam style) would be organised while free food and drinks would be served for those who attend the
celebrations.
