AUG 6- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday moved Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court order that had held the report of its two-member committee, constituted to probe Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal, as “unconstitutional” and “illegal”.

srinivasan_1805getty_630The high court had on July 30 trashed the internal probe report, prepared by two retired judges, which had cleared BCCI’s president-in-exile N. Srinivasan’s franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra of charges of betting and spot-fixing.

A two-judge division bench had made the observations while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Bihar Cricket Association as it dismissed the BCCI probe panel.

Srinivasan, who had stepped aside for the duration of the BCCI probe, intended to return as the board president in the board’s working committee meeting on August 2, but his attempt was thwarted as the interim chief, Jagmohan Dalmiya, called it off at the last moment.
