KOTA KINABALU, Aug. 8- Sabah Wanita Umno has given the thumbs up for state Umno Liaison chief and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman to join the fray for the vice presidency in the party’s approaching national polls.
Its assistant secretary Datuk Jainab Ahmad said Musa had been instrumental in ensuring a comfortable majority for the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 13th general election and thus deserved to be among the top leaders in the Umno Supreme Council.
“He helped us tremendously in the recent general election and the win is the fruit of his labour, which translates to our state’s contribution to the federal government,” she told reporters after presenting raya goodies to personnel at the Menggatal police station near here Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Jainab who is also State Community Development and Consumer Affairs minister said the movement would also support Datuk Armani Mahiruddin should she decide to contest for the Wanita Umno vice president’s post.
