KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2- Umno will conduct a simulation of the new method of party election for three weeks from Monday.
Its executive secretary Datuk AB Rauf Yusoh said the simulation would cover all aspects including the method of registering, voting and vote counting.
He said the Selection Committee would convene on Thursday and representatives nationwide would be called to conduct the simulation at the Umno Training Centre in Janda Baik.
“The new method will show the best approach in selecting grassroots leaders.
“It can be done three weeks before the registration of candidates starts,” he told reporters at his Aidilfitri open house, here, Sunday night.
Umno will use the ‘Electoral College’ system which combines the election method in the United States and United Kingdom for the party election this time.
The registration for contesting candidates will be from Sept 21.
