KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2- Seven men, including MIC Youth chief T.Mohan were arrested on Sunday for allegedly hindering a road repair at a temple in Jalan P. Ramlee here.
Dang Wangi police chief, ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said they were picked up at about 11am and released after having their statements taken.
“We believe it was merely a misunderstanding between MIC Youth and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). They (MIC Youth) thought that DBKL wanted to demolish the temple,” he said in a statement.
He said there was no untoward incident and the road repair work continued without restraint after that.
The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for preventing public servants from doing their job.
