Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s wax figures unveiled


SEPT 18- The figures, which are on loan to Madame Tussauds in Washington DC from now until mid-November, cost 150,000 pounds each and depict the royal couple wearing clothing they donned when they attended a gala dinner at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles during their first official visit to America and Canada after they married in April 2011.

KATECatherine – known as Kate Middleton before she tied the knot – is clothed in a replica of the Alexander McQueen gown she wore.

The stunning piece clinches in at the waist before falling to the ground and the brunette beauty is seen clutching her purse in one hand.


Meanwhile, William has been immortalised in wax grinning and standing in his dinner suit with his hands crossed.

The new wax figures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge go on display at Madame Tussauds in Times Square, New York, NY on April 4, 2012. Wax figures of the pair have been made to coincide with their first wedding anniversary.Madame Tussauds in Washington DC said: “We hope that they [the duke and duchess] are as delighted as we are; they have been really supportive throughout the whole process.”

William and Catherine are currently enjoying parenthood after having their first child, Prince George, on July 22.
