SEPT 26- Gujarat Congress leaders have upped the ante against Narendra Modi. While Gujarat CM is on tour as BJP’s PM candidate, his state is facing floods and more than 42,000 people have been relocated and displaced in the state.
Sensing an opportunity here to hit out at Modi, Congress leaders are visiting the flood affected areas of Bharuch and Vadodara and will also be meeting Governor Kamla Beniwal, later in the day, to point out state government’s follies and lapses.
State Congress president Arjun Modhwadia will be visiting flood affected areas of Vadodara this evening and Leader of the Opposition, Shankersinh Vaghela will be meeting Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal at 4 pm.
Meanwhile, the state government held Disaster Management meeting which was headed by Nitin Patel and attended by Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel and Agriculture Minister Babu Bokhiriya. Relief measures were carried out to evacuate people living in low lying areas.
Roads, Bridges over River and Highways are being cleared of muck to ensure smooth functioning of traffic.
Situation is now under control in Surat, Vadodara, Bharuch and Ahmedabad. However, heavy rains continue in Saurashtra, especially in Rajkot, Junagadh and Jamnagar districts.
