“I’m also willing to become a tenant leasing land from government agencies,” he told reporters after inaugurating the school sports meet of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Hicom, Section 27 in Shah Alam, and making a contribution of RM10,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association of the school, Sunday.

Saravanan said he was trying to create opportunities in agriculture for Indians as many lower-level jobs that used to be given to the group had now been taken over by foreigners.

In another development, Saravanan, who is also the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, urged the Education Ministry to absorb at least 10 per cent of Tamil school teachers into secondary schools to address the problem of Indian students dropout rate in secondary school.
