KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 – The Dewan Rakyat today offered condolences to the family of former Kedah menteri besar Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak, who died after a long illness, last Thursday.
Its deputy speaker, Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said said Azizan’s demise was a big loss to the country.
“On behalf of members of the House and the Parliament, I wish to express our condolences to the deceased’s family.
“May his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful,” he said before starting the debate session.
Ismail then asked members of the House to stand up and offer the Al-Fatihah and observe a minute of silence.
Azizan, 69, died of sepsis and multi-organ failure at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar after battling ill health for four months.
