KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 – Traffic flow on several highways are reported to be slowing down as city folk start the exodus back to their hometowns for Chinese New Year which starts tomorrow.
The Malaysian Highways Authority (LLM) Facebook said traffic was building up from the Gombak Toll Plaza to Genting Sempah and until the Bentong Toll Plaza. It was a similar scenario at the turn off into the Menora Tunnel heading north
towards Kuala Kangsar.
According to PLUS Twitter site, the stretches from Bukit Lanjan to Bukit Beruntung, Bukit Tagar to Sungkai and Tapah to Gopeng were congested. PLUS also advised motorists to follow its travel schedule and those with a further destination to leave early, to ensure a smooth journey home.
Those traveling from Klang Valley to Kedah, Perlis, Penang, Skudai, Senai Utara, Ayer Hitam, Yong Peng and Tangkak were suggested to depart before 12 noon.
Whereas, Klang Valley to Ipoh, Simpang Pulai, Gopeng and Simpang Ampat was
recommended between 3 and 6 pm.
