Kuala Lumpur, Oct 29 – Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM80.69 million this year for the maintenance of Public Housing (PA) and People’s Housing Projects (PPR).
Deputy Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Dr J. Loga Bala Mohan said public works accounted for RM32.03 million, electrical works (RM24.96 mln), mechanical works (RM12.2 mln) and lift repair (RM11.5 mln).
He said for cleaning up work, DBKL allocated RM199.73 million this year compared to the RM195.1 million allocated last year.
Of the total, RM135 million was for cleaning up pedestrian walkway, street, drain and garbage collection.
Some RM35 million was allocated for the operation and maintenance of the solid waste transfer station in Taman Beringin and RM28 million for tipping charges during solid waste disposal at Bukit Tagar.
Dr. J. Loga said RM1.5 million was allocated for maintenance of garbage dumps and RM180 million to remove illegal advertisements.
He was replying to a question from Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani (BN-Titiwangsa) who wanted to know about DBKL’s expenditure for PA and PPR and the alocation for cleaning up garbage in the city.
