Pistol Found At Shah Alam Stadium

Shah Alam, Nov 4 – Police found a pistol with seven bullets at a toilet at the Shah Alam Stadium during the Malaysia Cup final between Pahang and Kelantan.

Shah Alam deputy police chief, DSP Ruslan Abdullah said police were trying to trace the owner and the motive for bringing the firearm to the stadium.

“We cannot provide any details as yet because the case is still under investigation,” he told Bernama here.

It is understood the gun was found by a policeman when he was using the toilet.

Ruslan also said police detained 86 individuals for entering the stadium with fake tickets and all were subsequently released on police bail.

“We also detained five other individuals for committing offences like lighting flares, firecrackers and hurling bottles.

“These actions not only endangered themselves but also other spectators including children in the stadiium,” he said, adding that overall the final proceeded smoothly without any major incidents.

Ruslan said police stationed 110 officers and 1,482 men inside and outside the stadium including at its car parks and access roads to ensure stringent security.

Pahang were the Malaysia Cup 2013 champions when they edged Kelantan 1-0 before 75,000 fans from both sides.

Matias Ruben Conti was the hero for Pahang when he nodded home the winner in the 58th minute.
