Rajendara said the government is yet to decide which level of students would get to study about Tendulkar.

“These things are to be finalised. However, one thing is certain, from June (beginning of next academic year) students will have a lesson on Tendulkar,” he said.

This is not the first time that students in Maharashtra are required to study the life history of a cricketer as part of their syllabus.

Former cricketers Chandrakant Gulabrao ‘Chandu’ Borde and ‘little master’ Sunil Gavaskar have been included in the state’s school syllabus.
