Kuala Lumpur, Dec 4 – The Umno General Assembly begins Wednesday with the opening of the general assemblies of the party’s three wings – Wanita, Youth and Puteri – at the Putra World Trade Centre here.
The general assemblies of the three wings start simultaneously at 8am with a policy speech by the respective head of the movements followed by the tabling of motions.
The Wanita wing is expected to debate on motions on raising women’s status, economic participation and educational opportunities as well as on religion and social well-being.
The Youth wing is expected to delve on ways to improve party polls and fundamental issues like employment, housing, business opportunities and economy.
The Puteri wing is expected to devote on politics, economy, religion and education.
A total of 989 delegates from each wing are expected to attend the respective assemblies.
