Selangor Sultan Saddened By Rise In Religious Extremism

Port  Klang, Dec 6- The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was today saddened by the rise of religious extremism and extremists who are prepared to kill people of their own race and religion.

The increase in extremists is because of teachings like Syiah, Al-Arqam, Kadiani, Tuhan Harun and many more that deviate from the teachings of Islam that is practiced in Malaysia, he said after opening the Kampung Raja Uda Mosque, here today.

“I hope the people of Selangor will not be influenced by the sweet promises of such extremists who are out to guide Muslims into teachings that are against Islam,” said Sultan Sharafuddin.

He also directed the Mufti of Selangor Datuk Abdul Wahid Tamyes and Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) to increase efforts to explain to the people of Selangor about the dangers of deviationist who are out to disrupt the Malay unity.

The Sultan also urged JAIS to monitor ceramah or deviationist teachings in the state, especially foreigners who try to spread such teachings.

Meanwhile, Kampung Raja Uda Mosque which was completed in November 2012 at a cost of RM7.6 million, can accommodate 3,500 people.
