Kuala Lumpur, Dec 26 – Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Japan Airlines have established a new codeshare destination that took effect on Tuesday, giving MAS access to Vancouver, Canada, via Tokyo.
MAS said the new codeshare would see Japan Airlines service from Narita to Vancouver and vice-versa, carrying the MAS flight code.
To promote this codeshare, MAS is now offering attractive all-inclusive return fares to Vancouver starting from RM3,158 for economy class and RM14,299 for business class, the airline said in a statement.
MAS Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari said the codeshare would allow access for Japan Airlines customers from Vancouver into Kuala Lumpur.
“It is our initiative towards enhancing air connectivity with key priority markets overseas for increased tourist arrivals into Malaysia and in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2014,” it added.
