Singapore, Feb 6 – Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has welcomed the growing cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia, and looks forward to the further deepening of their bilateral ties.
According to the republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he made the remark during his meeting with Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who called on the prime minister on Thursday.
Ahmad Zahid is on a three-day introductory visit to Singapore, beginning Wednesday, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean.
During their meeting, Lee and Ahmad Zahid reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations between Singapore and Malaysia.
They had a good discussion on the close partnership between security and law enforcement agencies on both sides, and welcomed further bilateral exchanges.
