Kelana Jaya, Feb 6 – Malaysia Airlines, which signed an agreement to sponsor air transportation for the crew members of Datuk Shah Rukh Khan’s Temptation Reloaded concert, expects the event to be a catalyst that will promote traffic between Malaysia and India, said its Commercial Director, Dr Hugh Dunleavy.
The agreement was signed today between the national carrier and concert organiser, Hitman Solutions.
Dunleavy said Malaysia Airlines was already operating quite an extensive network in India.
“We are always interested to bring more volume from India into Malaysia and we see this concert as a source of incremental traffic for Malaysia,” he told a press conference after the signing ceremony here today.
Under the agreement, Malaysia Airlines will fly some 100 crew members of the concert from Mumbai to Kuala Lumpur and vice-versa.
Dunleavy said the concert, which will also feature Bollywood actresses Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Rani Mukherjee and Jacqueline Fernandez, was an excellent opportunity to promote Malaysia around the world.
The Temptation Reloaded concert, a franchise previously staged in Auckland, Sydney and Frankfurt, will be held at Stadium Merdeka Kuala Lumpur on Feb 15.
Supported by Tourism Malaysia as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 campaign, the concert is expected to attract over 15,000 patrons, with 10,000 tickets already sold, todate.
