JASIN, Feb 20 – Former deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, P. Waythamoorthy has no right to blame Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak because the government under his leadership is still providing for the needs of the Indian community, Deputy Education Minister II P.Kamalanathan said here Wednesday. He said the government has made significant allocations to the community, especially to improve the Tamil school education system and the process was being continued by the Barisan Nasional government.
“He (Waythamoorthy) has no right to criticise someone (Najib) who is always giving something to the Indian community and implementing various transformation and continuing to assist them in many ways,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after launching Politeknik Merlimau as the Tourism Education and Hospitality Centre (MyCenTHE) here.
He was asked to comment on Waythamoorthy’s allegation that his resignation was due to the government’s refusal to implement socio-economic changes to aid the Indian poor, since his appointment eight months ago.
Kamalanathan, who is also a member of the MIC Central Working Committee, said Waythamoorthy should work as a team player to defend the needs and rights of the Indian community.
