Johor Baharu, Feb 28 – Water distribution in four zones in Kluang that have come under water rationing will be done every 48 hours instead of the 36 hours announced following capacity at the Sembrong Timur water treatment plant currently running at 65.52 per cent.
Syarikat Air Johor Holdings Sdn Bhd (SAJ) head of corporate communications Jamaluddin Jamal said the plant operated by Southern Water Corp (SWC) would only be able to produce 10 million litres of treated water today as compared to 12 million litres yesterday.
“Thus, SWC is unable to keep to its schedule of supply to SAJ,” he said in a statement here Thursday.
The rationing is scheduled to apply from March 1 to March 31.
Jamaluddin added that water supply in other areas in Johor would not be affected as there was adequate raw water supply to meet consumer needs.
