Beijing, March 8 -The media here has been trying hard to get the latest news after a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane went missing Saturday on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

Dozens of journalists thronged the Lido Hotel where a MAS official held a press conference this evening.

Family members of the passengers were difficult to reach as they were accommodated elsewhere in the same hotel.

Some of them were seen with tears and declined to talk to the journalists who approached them.

One family member of a passenger even shouted at the journalists, saying “do you have any family? Leave us alone!”

MAS’ Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers from 14 nationalities and 12 crew, lost contact with the Subang air traffic control at 2.40 am (Malaysian time), two hours after taking off from the KL International Airport. The plane was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6.30 am (Beijing time).
