New Delhi, March 20 – Renowned writer and journalist Khushwant Singh passed away on Thursday at the age of 99.
Singh’s novel, Train To Pakistan, is considered a classic.
The author released his last book, The Good, The Bad and The Ridiculous, in October 2013.
Singh was the founder-editor of Yojana and editor of the Illustrated Weekly of India, the National Herald and the Hindustan Times.
His other known books include I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale and Delhi.
His non-fiction works includes a two-volume A History of the Sikhs and many translations of Urdu poetry.
He also wrote an autobiography, Truth, Love and a Little Malice, released in 2002.
Khushwant Singh was a Member of Parliament from 1980 to 1986 and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
