Calcutta, May 17 – Photo shows Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) Chief and Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, addressing a press conference in Calcutta, Eastern India, yesterday.
Although, the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, led by party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi won an absolute majority in India’s parliamentary polls, in West Bengal, BJP was unable to break into the strongholds of TMC in the state.
TMC won 34 seats in West Bengal out of 42, while BJP only managed to win 2 seats.
Taking on Mamata directly and attacking her seems to be a wrong strategy employed by BJP in West Bengal.
