New Delhi, May 20 – These handout photographs provided by the Indian President House shows India’s prime minister-designate Narendra Modi with the Indian president Pranab Mukherjee, prior to a meeting at Indian president house in New Delhi, India, today.
Narendra Modi received a letter from President Pranab Mukherjee inviting him to form the next government.
The Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party formally named Modi as their choice to become prime minister, and announced a 29-member coalition called the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
It was also later announced by Modi himself that his swearing-in ceremony would take place on the 26th of May 2014 at 6.00 pm.
The event will take place in Rashtrapathi Bavan, the official residence of the President.
