Tokyo, May 22 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who arrived here Wednesday evening for a brief working visit to Japan, attended a private dinner hosted by his counterpart Shinzo Abe and his wife Akie Abe.
The dinner, held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence, was also attended by members of Najib’s entourage.Earlier, upon his arrival, Najib attended a bilateral meeting with Abe held at the Prime Minister’s Office.Present in the meeting were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Othman Hashim, Malaysian Ambassador to Japan Shaharuddin Md Som, International Trade and Industry Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Dr Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria and Special Advisor (International Relations) to the Prime Minister Datuk Mohammad Kamal Yan Yahaya.
Najib will deliver a keynote address at the Nikkei 20th International Conference on the Future of Asia “Rising Asia: Messages for the Next 20 Years” tomorrow.
The International Conference on The Future of Asia is a forum that each year brings together political leaders, including many heads of governments, and top business executives to discuss the future of Asia-Pacific nations and how development in the region stands to impact the global economy.
Since its inauguration in 1995, The Future of Asia has come to be recognised as one of the foremost international conferences in Asia.
