According to the Nikkei business daily, Japan’s Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co is poised to purchase US life insurer Protective Life for more than 500 billion yen (4.9 billion US dollar).
The deal will mark the largest-ever acquisition of a foreign company by a Japanese life insurer.
