MELBOURNE, July 20 — For Irene and George Burrows of Queensland, their tragic loss can only be described as ‘double jeopardy’ in a spate of just four months this year. On March 8, the couple, from Biloela, seven hours north of Brisbane, lost their son, Rodney and daughter-in-law Mary in March when Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370 vanished.
Now, they are grieving the loss of two other family members who were on board Flight MH17 when it was believed to have been shot down over Ukraine. Their step-grand-daughter Maree Rizk and her husband, Albert, both from Sunbury near Melbourne, were named as two of the 27 Australians on MH17 which was believed to have been shot down above Ukraine reports the ABC.
Rizk, a real estate agent, and his wife were reportedly returning to Australia on the flight, following a month-long holiday in Europe. Rodney and Mary were on MH370 when the aircraft disappeared shortly after departing Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on March 8.
