September 12-Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt seems to be following what the popular Ramsay Brothers did in the 80s. Of course now, he has the help of computer generated special effects, which he uses to create weird creatures.

The big creature in the movie Creature 3D is a lizard man who is actually Brahma Rakshas; that also means something but I can’t be getting into illogical specifics here. Ahana (Bipasha Basu) has shifted base from Mumbai to Himachal to set up her own boutique hotel. She moved out of Mumbai because her dad committed suicide after being harassed by builders and the land mafia. She faces a lot of problems while setting up the hotel and trust me, these are serious problems!

bipasha-story_650_091214104009The first person to be killed by the Creature aka Brahma Rakshas is the driver of the truck that’s carrying goods for the hotel from Chandigarh. The police have a tough job because only his hand remains! Now they are wondering what kind of an animal swallows a whole body and leaves just one hand! The hotel suddenly becomes unpopular because lot of people are attacked and killed. The cop in charge doesn’t take this matter seriously. Hard to believe, right?

Along side there is also a love story going on. Ahana is falling in love with one of her guests who is always by her side to help her. And why is he always there for her? Well he has a backstory too, but lets leave it at that!
Finally everyone is told to vacate the hotel and Ahana is asked to shut it, but she wont. She will fight the creature and wont go back to Mumbai. This is her battle and she has to fight it by herself. She doesn’t expect any miracle, “Bhagwan ne meri madat Mumbai mein nahi kii who yahaan Glendale mien kyon karega!”

Press conference for movie Creature 3DThough it’s supposed to be a horror film, some dialogues and scenes will leave you in splits, unintentionally of course! There is a scene where they want to kill the Creature so they keep a dummy inside a bus on the highway. Bipasha and her gang are hiding in bushes on all different sides of the bus but the creature of course misses all of them and goes for the dummy inside the bus. What I fail to understand is that if they know he comes out so easily, why do they later go inside some cave where he lives? Of course they want to kill him but why go to the dude’s house! And how the hell do they know where this creature lives! I didn’t expect any logic from this film but I expected some common sense in the plot at least.

Bipasha Basu tries hard but I don’t think one can deliver a fantastic performance in a film like Creature 3D. The male lead Imran Abbas doesn’t leave any mark. The VFX team must have worked hard on making this creature but that’s not all that we would like to watch. If I buy a ticket I would like to watch a combination of a good film with good VFX.

I guess when it’s Vikram Bhatt, always expect the unexpected! I have absolutely no reason to recommend this one.
