MCA leaves decision on contesting candidates to BN leadership

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23- MCA will leave the ultimate decision on contesting candidates at the upcoming 13th General Election to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said its deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai(Pic).

LI0W TIONG LAI“As far as we (MCA) are concerned we have submitted the candidates list to the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak), so we leave it to him to make the final decision,” he said to reporters after the Chinese New Year celebrations organised by the Wangsa Maju MCA, here today.

At the event, Liow received a memorandum from non-governmental organisations in the division in support of Wangsa Maju MCA chairman, Datuk Yew Teong Look, as BN’s candidate for the Wangsa Maju parliamentary constituency at the next
general election.

“I receive this memorandum with an open heart and will hand it over to the PM,” said Liow.

At the 2008 General Election, Yew lost to PKR candidate Wee Choo Keong by 150 votes. Wee then left PKR and became an independent candidate.
