PUTRAJAYA, Feb 23- Barisan Nasional (BN)’s election manifesto is currently undergoing final touches and will be launched by its chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the appropriate time, said BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. He said what was assured was that each pledge in the manifesto would be fulfilled unlike the opposition which only made empty promises.
“The promises will be fulfilled as our party BN is from the people, for the people and because of the people.
“What we pledge in the manifesto will be fulfilled as we have the means to ensure the people receive what they want,” he told reporters after presenting 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) vouchers at the Neighbourhood Complex in Precinct 11 here today.
On the opposition’s manifesto which would be launched on Monday, Tengku Adnan said he was puzzled why they were still issuing a manifesto when they had admitted themselves that the manifesto was not a promise which should be fulfilled. The Selangor Pakatan Rakyat government led by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had earlier been reported to have said that the opposition’s general election manifesto was not pledges which needed to be fulfilled. On the BR1M 2.0, Tengku Adnan said 9,401 residents here were eligible to receive the aid and about 5,000 vouchers were handed over today while 3,000 more had been earlier presented.
The remaining aid vouchers would be handed over before the end of the month and those who could not attend the presentation ceremony could claim the aid voucher at the Elected Representative’s office in Presinct 14 during office hours, he said.
