Samsung announces world’s first Android-powered printer

Smart-MultiXpress-K4350-series-31 (1)KUALA LUMPUR, September 19- Samsung Electronics Co Ltd announced 10 new multi-function printer (MFP) models for the European market at the “Smart MultiXpress” Unveiling Event taking place at IFA 2014 in Berlin.

The new models are in four categories — the X4300 (A3 colour), K4350 (A3 monochrome), M5370 (A4 monochrome) and M4580 (A4 monochrome) series — and are designed to be more independent, intuitive and scalable for all types of business environments.

Executive Vice President of Printing Solutions at Samsung Electronics Dr. KiHo Kim said in a statement that Samsung continues to strive for user-centred innovation, adding the introduction of the first Android OS-equipped MFPs will enhance Samsung s smart office experience for business customers and allow for greater multidimensional and advanced printing technologies.

Smart-MultiXpress-M5370-series-21“Our new printer line combines Samsung s best in class IT technology and OA device know-how to create more innovative products for the new office automation market,” he said.The new MFPs will feature Samsung s Smart UX Centre to operate independently without a PC, app scalability, and a consumer-friendly UI.

They also feature a 10.1-inch full touchscreen panel that enables users to search and print from web browsers, emails, maps, images and other types of content, without the need to connect to a PC or server. The touchscreen also offers the ability to preview documents, as well as editing and annotating capabilities.
