SEPANG, September 20- Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has instructed the Department of Civil Aviation to expedite the analysis of gathered data to bring to justice those who shot down the Malaysia Airlines’ Flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine on July 17.

He said the preliminary report of the Dutch Safety Board confirmed that Flight MH17 disintegrated in the air after suffering structural damage as a result of having been pierced from the outside by large number of ‘high-energy objects’.

The facts contained in the report, including the cockpit voice and data recording, are vital documents that had to be analysed to make a finding, he told reporters after attending the ceremony to honour the remains of three Malaysians victims of the tragedy brought home today, at the Bunga Raya Complex of the KL International Airport here.

“There are two parts of the investigation – technical and criminal investigation. I will be looking at all these. As the minister in charge, I have to make sure the investigation is thorough.

“It is necessary to analyse the gathered data pertaining to the technical and criminal aspects to get to the truth … who shot down our flight and bring them to justice,” he said.
