PONDICHERRY, September 22 – Malaysia’s contribution towards the development of the Tamil Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the internet world is very significant.
International Forum for Information Technology in Tamil (Malaysia branch) chairman C. M. Elantamil said the community in Malaysia was always a role model to Indians worldwide.
“Malaysia also plays an important role in adapting and popularising the use of the standard Tamil Language in electronic devices such as smart phones, iPad, tab, notebook, tablet, social media and e-mail.
“The word, ‘Inaiyam’ (internet) is widely used among cross-border Tamil speakers. It is a contribution of Tamil language and ICT experts from Malaysia. “We are working on many more with ICT experts, other than joint-ventures with giant companies such as Google and Apple,” he told Bernama at the 13th International Tamil Internet Conference in Pondicherry University, India. The three-day conference ends today.
