IPOH, Feb 25 – Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin feels Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir(Pic)remains the best candidate to continue leading the state after the 13th General Election.
He said Zambry is a people-oriented leader who also understood the needs of the younger generation.
“I have worked alongside Zambry when we were both Umno Youth committee members and I personally feel that he is the best choice for the Perak Menteri Besar’s post,” he said. Leaders from Barisan Nasional (BN) appointed as Menteri Besar should, among others, posses the criteria of understanding youths, he told reporters after an assembly with Perak Umno Youth Election Machinery here last night in the presence of Zambry and Perak Umno Youth Chief Khairul Azwan Harun.
On the Umno Youth election machinery in Perak, he said they were 100 per cent ready to face the coming general election. He said the presence of about 8,000 Umno Youth members in Perak was unexpected but described it as proof of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s success in introducing policies which were favoured by the younger generation.
“I want to reiterate that our youths are not fooled by promises made by the opposition, such as in Selangor, where many promises were not fulfilled,” he added.
