KLANG, Feb 27 – Former Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Hasan Ali(Pic) has told PAS that there is no need to feel proud of Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR)manifesto launched on Monday as it is does not reflect the party’s aspirations, especially in upholding Islam in the country. The manifesto leaned more towards serving PKR and DAP’s aspirations and did not touch on matters that would uphold Islam’s position in this country, he said at a “Jom Tolak Pakatan” (Let’s Reject Pakatan) ceramah in Jalan Nenas, Meru, here, last night.

“The manifesto does not mention the establishment of an Islamic state or the uplifting of the position of the syariah courts to be at par with the civil courts’,” he added.

Dr-Hassan-Mohd-AliHence, he wondered why PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat and president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang raised their hand during the launching of the manifesto although it was alright for opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to do so as their agenda was in the manifesto.

“Their (PKR and DAP) agenda of making Islam in Malaysia more liberal or secular is inserted in the manifesto but the Islamic agenda is not clearly spelt out,” he noted.

Hasan said to date, PR had not determined their choice for the prime minister’s post if they manage to capture Putrajaya in the upcoming 13th general election. He said DAP, PKR and some quarters in PAS wanted Anwar as prime minister while PAS leaders themselves dared not highlight Anwar as prime minister material.

“PAS leaders know Anwar in and out. So, won’t they feel ashamed if Anwar becomes prime minister?

“The issue of who will be prime minister is important because if Pakatan Rakyat wins the elections this time, the prime minister will be the first to take the oath (of office) before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong before the new cabinet is formed,” he said.

Hasan therefore urged the voters in Meru to not gamble away Malaysia’s future and instead, reject PR. He also said that Nik Aziz’s likening Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia recipients to chickens and cows did not reflect the character or language of an ulama.
