KUALA LUMPUR,March 1- The personal website of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, which can be accessed via www.1malaysia.com.my , has a new look and among others included the columns on ‘My Record’ and ‘Action’. The column ‘My Record’ features the segment on Economic Progress, 1Malaysia Initiative, Political Transformation, Global Involvement and Leadership. In the Involvement segment, Najib said he had on numerous occasions stated that the era of ‘Government Knows All’ had ended.
“The fact is that the people know better what they want and need and thus, I always want to communicate with you as often as possible to get ideas, consider all the views and implement them.
“Democracy is not merely about elections, it is about fulfilling the aspirations of the people,” said the Prime Minister.
Najib said he was humbled by the undivided support given by the people each time he made a visit throughout the country — regardless from Batu Caves to Brickfields, Chinatown right up to the interor of Sabah and Sarawak.
“I always work hard to ensure that all your opinions on national prosperity and peace can be implemented, and I will continue to consider each suggestion so that you can be together in developing the country,” he said.
In the Political Transformation segment, Najib said that since becoming Prime Minister in 2009, he was very clear on the Malaysian vision to achieve a modern, progressive and forward looking nation in practicing democracy that protected the rights and freedom of the people.
“For this purpose, I have implemented several political transformation packages which were most historical since Malaysia achieved independence,” he said, citing for example the Emergency Ordinance that had ended and the abolition of the colonial era law, namely the Internal Security Act (ISA) which provided for detention without trial.
He also referred to the introduction of the Government Transformation Programme aimed at ensuring that public services were improved and responsive to the people’s needs besides eliminating corruption. The segment on 1Malaysia Initiatives featured programmes focused on the people and encompassing such sectors as housing, health, education, transportation, food, savings, welfare and training. Visitors to the blog can also follow activities and developments concerning the Prime Minister through the section known as ‘Online Adventure With Najib Razak’.
The new-look blog also carries a column that enables visitors to access what is called ‘Action Kit’ containing basic tools as a preparation to face the general election. Among others, it provides a guide book for new voters, collar pins, pens and several stickers.
