Kuala Lumpur, Feb 16 – In an immediate response to MIC Palanivel’s press statement issued today, MIC Deputy President Dato Seri Dr S.Subramaniam declared that the party is not controlled by BN and that the integrity and dignity of the party would not be compromised under any circumsatances.
In a press statement Subra said: “I had a meeting with the Prime Minister ,the Deputy Prime Minister and the Barisan National Secretary this morning. The President Dato G.Palanivel did not attend the meeting as his wife was not well”.
Subra also confirmed that the meeitng affirmed the following:
1. MIC resolves it’s issues as per the directive of the ROS letter.
2. The 32 elected members of the CWC of 2009 shall form the interim CWC to facilitate conducting of the re-election.
3. No nominated members will be included in the interim CWC as per the ROS letter.
4. In matters of dispute the BN secretariat shall act as facilitators including in ensuring that letters of meeting are delivered to all 32 members of the CWC.
Subra also vehemently denied that there was any agreement to allow the BN to run the MIC in total as purportedly stated by the misleading statement of the BN Sec Gen.
Subra further stated : “As one of the leaders of the Malaysian Indian Congress I would to assert that while we might having a difficult time we will not compromise on the integrity and dignity of the Party. We feel that the interim CWC as directed by the ROS is fully capable of conducting the re-election and resolving the issues of the MIC”
